    Pubberdydum 2011
The season is almost over, which means it's time to set the date for the END OF SEASON DIGGERDYDUM PUB MEET in which we go to the pub and maybe even talk about Doctor Who.

History teaches us that Tuesdays and Thursdays seem to be best for this kind of thing, so I've picked a selection of upcoming ones and arranged them in - but of course - poll format.

belated missed-ep “it's warm -- BLOOD warm!” ketchup
Right, 1989's THE CURSE OF FENRIC, in which Eeevil Re-Incarnate Fenric plays games with the bloodlines of all (local amateur) history until a rematch with the Doctor goes AWRY, but at WHAT COST to TRUST? A hyper-timely-wimely ketchup this, given actual current Nu-Who (apparently: I'm writing this up before I watch last week's) (and after I watched this week's). And also anyway an epochal, prescient, witty and fascinatingly and unexpectedly complex and emotionally provocative ep, say some (others: "it's incomprehensible c0ck"). On hand PLOOS it has Vikings, vampires, vicars (well, Nicholas Parsons as a vicar), cosmic chess, companionly fambly biz, WW2-era computers, code-busting Bletchley Park rehoused near legendary Gothavore bathing spot Whitby, un CURSE LOCALE and AMAZING SOVIET LOVE INTEREST <---- :o :o :o :o On side (so-called) MEEEN00S = Ms Dorothy Gale "Ace" McShane; SIR SYLVESTRE McGURNSALOT; fx budget of 15 and one quarter pee. And so, since the plot claims to untangle itself by working backwards, backwardsly let us trip and troll through these claims

    Bits Of Diggerdydum Business
    - Big thanks to [info]wwhyte for manning the polls while I was on holiday, so much on holiday in fact that I forgot Who was back.

    - The supporting characters poll WILL run this year, but in the post-season pre-Christmas break. This is so we can vote for Hitler.*

    - Most important of all the end-of-season PUB VISIT will be in October once the season ends and the nights are drawing in. Whatever else comes of the 2011 gap this is a good thing: fandom was not meant for the bright nights of summer.

    *Don't vote for Hitler.
